Background

Pearl has over 15 years of policy, program, research management and public health experience in Africa. She brings deep medical care and global health experience and has worked as a primary health care clinician; over the years she has developed a special interest in the clinical management of HIV.

She is currently a public health specialist with extensive experience in the implementation of USAID-funded projects and is heavily involved in making general management concepts and practices relatable and practical for clinical health workers.  In her leadership capacity she has been involved in numerous management decisions and interactions with government bodies, civil society and the private sector.

Pearl has supported government Health ministries and social services functions across Africa with the development, review, and rollout of HIV prevention, care and treatment policies and guidelines and has advised district health services on change management, patient-centred care and the application of quality improvement methodology.

She has led teams of technical advisors and frontline health workers whom she has coached in self-leadership, effective communication, and teamwork.

She brings extensive knowledge of the global health sector, health project management and quality management.
